| Comedy XPeriment - What
We Do
Improvisation is the name of our game! We create characters
and scenes on-the-spot, in front of a live audience.
Comedy XPeriment is willfully playing with the traditional
formats of improv - known as Short-Form and Long-Form - and even creating some of its own!
Long Form shows take one initial suggestion from the audience and
build a complete story around that single suggestion. This is CXP's signature format. We've been
hard at work developing new "structures" that can present the Long Form improv story-telling ability
in exciting and unique ways. Catch our latest developments at an upcoming show!
Short Form Improv is the most well known - popularized by the show "Who's Line Is It Anyway?". Each scene or game starts with a
new suggestion from the audience and lasts 3 to 5 minutes. Additionally,
the scene or game is usually enhanced through various formulas, such as changing an
emotion when a host calls out something new. It's hilarity on steroids.
Our short form shows come in two flavors:
theater sports, where two teams of actors duke it out for comedic
supremacy, or the exhibition, where we all
participate to provide you the funniest stuff you've ever seen!
We've also recently added a musician to the troupe, and are now bringing musical numbers into our shows!
Where will this ride go next? Stay tuned!
